Hardware Resident Engineer

Job description

Our Client is a major global technology supplier, partnered with leading automotive OEMs, delivering advanced in-vehicle electronic systems that enhance the driver experience.

As a Hardware Engineer, you will join the North American engineering team to support the development, validation, and integration of next-generation in-car electronic systems. You will work cross-functionally with global teams and OEM partners to ensure hardware solutions meet performance, reliability, and customer requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development, validation, and integration of automotive electronic hardware systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure hardware performance, reliability, and compliance with customer specifications
  • Perform hardware testing and validation, using tools such as oscilloscopes and audio analyzers
  • Analyze and troubleshoot hardware and system-level issues to identify root causes and implement solutions
  • Interpret and work with embedded system schematics and designs
  • Build and modify test setups, including soldering and creating test harnesses
  • Support vehicle-level testing and real-world validation activities
  • Work closely with OEM customers to provide technical support and ensure successful product implementation
  • Utilize engineering tools such as Altium Designer, Vector CANOE, Confluence, and Jira for development and collaboration
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across hardware design and validation processes

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 3–6 years of experience in hardware development, ideally within automotive electronics
  • Strong understanding of embedded hardware systems and schematics
  • Hands-on experience with hardware debugging and validation tools (e.g., oscilloscopes, audio analyzers)
  • Experience with PCB design and development tools (e.g., Altium Designer)
  • Familiarity with automotive communication and testing tools (e.g., Vector CANOE)
  • Practical skills in soldering, test harness creation, and basic mechanical work
  • Experience using engineering collaboration tools (e.g., Confluence, Jira)
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, and customer-facing environment
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 30% for customer support and on-site activities
