Canada grants C$15 billion subsidy

Canada has committed to investing a substantial amount of up to C$15 billion in production incentives for the battery factory owned by Stellantis and LG Energy Solution.

This announcement was made jointly by the federal government and the Ontario government following an earlier announcement from the companies themselves regarding their intention to resume construction at their facility.

This generous investment surpasses a previous agreement with Volkswagen that had been announced back in April.

As part of this funding arrangement, construction work at the Stellantis LGES facility located in Windsor, Ontario will be able to proceed once again.

This initiative will lead to the creation of approximately 2,500 employment opportunities and a targeted annual manufacturing capacity exceeding 45 gigawatt hours.
