Huge few weeks for the autonomous space

Following a massive setback with the shut down of Argo.ai a few weeks back it is good to see some great news within the autonomous space. See below some of the highlights:
  • Einride the autonomous trucking company from Sweden raises $500 million to expand customer deployments.
  • Verdant Robotics raises $46.5 million to scale its robotic weeding service in its series A round of funding.
  • Kodiak Robotics the autonomous trucking business wins a $50 million defense contract to help automate future U.S. army ground vehicles led by the Army’s Robotic Combat Vehicle (RCV) program.
  • Israeli autonomous driving technology supplier Mobileye reports a 38% increase in revenue in first quarterly report since their IPO.
  • ISEE becomes the first company to achieve fully-autonomous operations with their self driving yard trucks raising $40 million in their series B.
  • Motional launch their robotaxi service within Uber in Las Vegas.
  • Baidu announces plan to build the worlds largest fully driverless ride-hailing service area in 2023.
  • Locus Robotics raises $117 million in new funding valuing the startup at $2 billion.
As we end the year it is great to see the positive news from the market and look forward to seeing the growth of the autonomous space over the coming years.
