Transforming End-of-Life Battery Logistics: A Green Partnership

Altium and electrification specialist Lunaz have joined forces to revolutionize end-of-life battery transportation.

Their ground-breaking project will see the creation of a purpose-built electric truck designed to safely transport used batteries while harnessing the remaining electrical energy.

This innovation will not only make battery transportation more eco-friendly but also discharge batteries before recycling.

Supported by the AITF – Automotive Industry Transformation Fund, this collaboration is set to pave the way for a greener future.

Altium is on a mission to open the UK’s largest electric car battery recycling facility in Teesside by 2026.

The facility is expected to recycle batteries from 150,000 electric vehicles annually, generating 30,000 tonnes of cathode active materials (CAM) for reuse in the electric vehicle battery supply chain.
