Volkswagen Group: Leading the Charge in European EV Sales!

The latest figures reveal Volkswagen Group’s domination as Europe’s top seller of full-electric vehicles through August, holding a commanding lead over competitors, including Stellantis.

VW Group’s impressive total encompasses brands such as AUDI AG, CUPRA, Porsche AG, SEAT,SA, Škoda Group, and Volkswagen, offering a remarkable 27 EV models.

Stellantis, on the other hand, includes Abarth & C. Spa, Citroën, DS Group, Fiat, Jeep, Opel/Vauxhall Motors Ltd, and Peugeot, with a total of 25 electric models.

The data, based on sales by a single brand, crowned Tesla as the undisputed European champion, ranking second in overall sales just behind VW Group, despite having only four models.

Furthermore, the race for the top five is heating up, with Renault Group-Nissan Motor Corporation and Hyundai Motor Company-Kia Motors in a close competition.

BMW Group, which includes BMW Group and MINI, remains ahead of Mercedes-Benz AG, demonstrating the success of their strategy to offer electric versions across their model families, including the new iX2 within the X2 range.

In terms of individual brand sales, Tesla takes the lead, powered by the Model Y, Europe’s top seller overall.

VW follows closely, with BMW in third place, and MG Motor Europe and Audi rounding out the top five, leaving Mercedes just outside.

This data highlights the dynamic landscape of the European EV market, with competition intensifying among leading automakers and their electric offerings.
